Best Dessert Recipes – Extra Chocolate Bundt Cake

Exquisite chefs use some of the best dessert recipes to compliment some of their finest meals.

Without a proper serving of dessert, we rarely feel complete with satisfaction. Desserts are usually meant to offer our taste buds some level of sweetness, but some may say otherwise.

If your meal already includes sweets, you may want to cut down on the sugar content in your dessert. If you’re considering a low sugar dessert recipe, you could consider additions such as poached peaches in Sauternes; Broiled Mango’s or some Almonds and Cherries dipped in Ricotta.

Most dinners are meat intensive, where you would include meats, potatoes and beans. This is somewhat of a heavy meal and it calls for a light dessert served in portions. Some of the best dessert recipes for such meals could be apple pies, raspberry cheesecakes, mango pudding or some chocolate brownies. To spice up your dessert, try adding some flare with nuts, fruits and cream. Not only will it give a unique taste to your dessert, it would also look edible.

I want to share a personal favourite of mine, as it’s a very delicious dessert that could be served with all sorts of meals. The recipe is called, Extra Chocolate Bundt Cake and is quite easy to make.

To begin, you will need the following ingredients,

• Half a Cup of Water
• 4 Whole Eggs
• A Bit of Butter or Margarine
• One Cup of Sour Cream
• One Cup of Vegetable Oil
• Two Cups of Chocolate Chips
• 6 Ounces of Chocolate Pudding Mix
• 18.5 Ounces of Cake Mix

Instructions:

In order to prepare some of the best dessert recipes, you will need utensils and special baking equipment. For our recipe, you will need a large enough bowl, spatula, a small dish, a 12 cup Bundt pan and a toothpick. Before you begin, you should preheat your over to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, which is about 175 degrees Celsius.

Add the cake mix to the large bowl and pour in the chocolate pudding mix. In a small dish, mix the four eggs until they are completely ready to be added to the cake mix. Although many of the best dessert recipes use premade cake mixes, you could certainly make some of your own.

Begin by adding the mixed eggs to the large bowl and use the spatula to mix it up. One at a time, you should add in the oil, sour cream and water. Before adding in the water, you will have a hard time mixing, so you could add little drops of water to allow for an easy mix. Once all of the water has been added, you can add all of the chocolate chips all at once and mix till they are evenly spread out.

Keep the mix in the large bowl and take your Bundt pan and start greasing it with a little bit of butter. By greasing it, you will prevent the cake from sticking to the pan when it is done. Once completely greased, you can add the batter to the pan. Note the time at which you put the cake in the oven.

The cake should be in the oven for about fifty to sixty minutes. After forty minutes of the cake being in the oven, you should check if the top of the cake is a little moist or sticky. Alternatively, you could use the toothpick test. Insert a toothpick in the cake and it should come out completely clean. A lot of the best dessert recipe makers use this simple technique to check if the cake is ready.

When the cake is ready, take the pan out of the oven and let it cool down for at least two hours. Once cooled off, it can be transferred onto a plate or dish, as you wish.

Chocolate cake is loved by everyone and it is one of the most popular desserts in some restaurants. Desserts can get a little too sweet if you add on too much icing on top, so always keep that to a minimum. Well, there you have it, this was one of my favourite and best dessert recipes from the books and I truly hope you live it!

Rich, Moist Chocolate Cake Recipe

For this wonderful recipe, I recommend a good dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa solids because it gives a more chocolatey, fuller flavour to the chocolate cake. Green & Blacks chocolate is my favourite for this chocolate cake recipe.

Ingredients:

For the chocolate cake:
200g Green & Blacks dark chocolate, broken into small pieces
200g light muscovado sugar
140g butter, softened
5 eggs, separated
100g plain flour
1tsp baking powder

For the chocolate cake icing:
250ml double cream
55g marshmallows
250g Green & Blacks dark chocolate, chopped

Directions:

Heat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4. Line a 20cm loose based cake tin with greaseproof paper. Boil a pan of water and turn the heat down to a simmer. Put the chocolate pieces into a bowl and melt it over the pan of simmering water. When all the chocolate has melted, put it to one side to cool a little. In a large bowl beat sugar and butter together until light and fluffy. Add the egg yolks one at a time and beat them well as you add them. Gently fold in the flour and baking powder, then stir in the melted chocolate. In a separate bowl whisk together the egg whites until they form peaks. Fold the egg whites gently into the chocolate cake mixture. Tip the finished cake mixture into your ready prepared cake tin. Bake in the oven for about 35 minutes. Check it’s ready with a skewer, if it comes out of the cake clean then it’s ready, if not then bake for a little longer. Cool on a wire rack.

For the icing, heat together the cream and marshmallows until the cream is just boiling and all the marshmallows have melted into the cream, you must stir the icing all the time.
Add the chopped chocolate to the mixture and stir until it’s smooth and creamy.
Chop your cooled chocolate cake in half horizontally and spread over a little of the icing. Sandwich together and then spread the rest of the icing over the top of your cake.
Now enjoy!

Looking for a good chocolate recipe for a tall birthday cake?

November 30, 2009 by

So I’m baking a cake for my cousin’s birthday, and I need a good recipe for a chocolate cake (she’s turning 10, so no coffee or any other “adult tastes”, please).
I don’t want it to be too sweet and since I’m planning on making 2 or 3 levels, it has to rise and become quite tall (somewhere between 2 and 2.5 inches is good).

This is a very dense, moist and delicious white chocolate cake – one of my favourites and perfect for Chocolate Week!

Ingredients

For the cake:
310g plain flour
5g baking soda
2g baking powder
3g salt
170g white chocolate, chopped
120ml hot water
225g butter, softened
300g caster sugar
3 eggs
235ml buttermilk

For the icing:
200g white chocolate, chopped
20g plain flour
235ml milk
225g butter, softened
200g caster sugar
5ml vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350F/175C/Gas Mark 4. Grease two 9inch round cake tins. In a bowl sieve together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and the salt. In a small pan mix together the white chocolate and hot water over a low heat until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth, leave to cool to room temperature. In a bowl mix together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time beating well. Stir in the flour mixture and buttermilk alternately. Mix in the melted chocolate. Put the cake batter into the cake tins and bake for approximately 30 minutes. Use a fork to see if the cake is cooked, if it comes out clean then it’s ready, if it has some batter on it, cook it for a little longer. When cooked take out of the tins and cool on a wire rack. For the icing, in a pan, add the chocolate, flour and milk and melt over a medium heat, stirring constantly, until it is thick and creamy. Allow to cool completely. In a bowl mix together the butter, sugar and vanilla extract until light and fluffy. Mix in the white chocolate mixture and beat until it’s thick and creamy. Spread  between the two layers of cake and over the top and sides of the cake.

There you have it, your delicious, white chocolate cake. Enjoy!
